Hi, just considering taking out basic dental insurance to cover the standard cleanings, repairs to fillings etc. when needed.

Lookin at options 2 with Decare dental and the VHI plan. Both seem to cover similar with Decare coming in less expensive.

I'm just wondering from peoples experience if one is better to deal with than the other. I've no experience with either and have no serious dental issues. Usually I pay directly to the dentist but considering it's not a lot more expensive to what i already pay for the routine stuff i'm considering insurance as an option to have a little added security in case I ever need it.

    Any opinions welcome thanks

Compare the waiting periods on both.

I am with DeCare - and cannot fault them.

Thanks, waiting periods appear to be the same. Will probably go with cheaper of the two if there is no reason not to.
