    Hi all,

Im thinking of getting this service as it is my last option i think. im in total black spot.
anyone have any reviews either way.

and for anyone in the know is this the same as me buying a d-link router and 20euro a month sim card from three.

looking for the best option that is available to me.
    any help appreciated.

    Hi.
We're trialing the rural wifi at the moment. Likewise were in a total blackspot have tried every other option and this was our last chance. We're so badly covered that mobile usage is outdoors only.

Best we were doing was 1.8mb from Eircom and it was very intermittent.

We're getting 5-12mb download and 4-5mb upload. It's steady and dips to 5mb during heavy use times but in the two weeks it's never dropped completly once, never needed reboot the router where with Eircom we were rebooting the router three to four times a day.

We're going to keep it on, it's not finer speeds but it's plenty for us.

Is it not hard to buy the SIM card from 3 now without providing photo ID.

    You're better off with a 3 SIM.

If you're way in the sticks invest in an antenna and a B593 or E5186, that can give really good results.

It really does depend on where you are. I tried 3 but it was really slow, they switched me to satelitte broadband as I was in the National Broadband Scheme area, and then moved me to Digiweb, who doubled the cost.

Where I am Vodafone has better coverage and we get a strong 4G signal outside although the router has to be on the side of the house facing the antenna. It's worth looking at the different providers and checking their maps. That said, whereas you used to be able to zoom right in to street level on Vodafone's coverage map, now it's just a picture.
