    Hi,
I've only recently heard of the cross border directive scheme. I'm just wondering has anyone had any success being reimbursed through this scheme? Any advice would be greatly appreciated? Thanks

Sorry it's the HSE scheme where patients can travel abroad to get procedures done and be reimbursed through HSE?

Ah, right. I heard about in the past but dont know an awful lot of details though. It seems the HSE kept it fairly quiet for a long time though. The gist of it seems to be if you are a waiting list for treatment you can have it done in another EU country, pay for it and then claim it back here again up to the value of what that treatment would cost here or what you paid whichever would be the lesser.

Was there not something in the local news on Highland Radio this morning about it? You have to be on an approved waiting list in the first instance and it may be the case now that admin slowness or errors is resulting in people being unable to avail of the scheme.

Thank you so much! Just wondering has anyone had any success getting their money back! Possibly there may have been something on highland radio, I didn't hear! Will check it out, thank you again!
