So my son was born with a VSD.

He was out on a waiting list for Dr. McMahon, a cardiologist from Dublin.

The doctor here in cork wanted our son to be seen by him.

Now i hope no one knows this, but: did anybody had an appointment with him and was put on a waiting list? I'm wondering how long it will take for our son to be seen by him.

If it's too long, if rather just make a private appointment here in cork.

In the North you can phone and ask for roughly where you are in the list - I assume you could do the same?
Just explain your situation and the phone operator will likely give you a gross estimate.
Good luck to you and your son x

The cardiology waiting lists in Crumlin can be up 12-18 months long, it depends on priority. 6 of the 7 cardiologists sit in the private clinic in Crumlin, which would be a few weeks waiting or less. Dr McMahon has a clinic in Cork every month but it would have a long list because its not held often. Handy for return visits but not the initial appointment.
