    Hi,

I am getting married in February in Dublin and we are looking for a three/four piece to play for a couple of hours at the reception. It will be a small affair. We would like to get somebody (if he/she can do this on their own and it sounds good) or maybe a small band set up would suit (I play a bit myself and think this might be the option). Other scenario is a dj, but would prefer live. Anyway, we have songs we definitely want to hear interspersed with the musician's own choice. Maybe your band already does these songs as part of your set but some are sentimental for my future wife and I and would be a blast to hear:

Father John Misty : Chateau Lobby #4, I'm writing a novel
Gram Parsons : Streets of Baltimore, Lazy days
The Byrds: Feel a Whole Lot Better
    Rolling Stones: Brown Sugar
Big Star : Thirteen, Watch the Sunrise
    Tom Petty: American Girl
    David Bowie: Changes, Young Americans
    Damien Dempsey: Hold Me
Bruno Mars: If I was your man, Lazy song, Amazing just the way you are, Locked out of Heaven
Teenage Fanclub: I don't want control of you, Your love is the place where I come from, Everything Flows
    Nada Surf: Friend Hospital
The Bangles: Eternal Flame, Walk like an Egyptian
Neil Young: Harvest Moon, Out on The Weekend
Stevie Wonder: Isn't she lovely, Living just enough for the city
    Tobias Jessos Junior: Without You
    Strokes: Last Night
Dawes: Million Dollar Bill, If I wanted someone
Bright Eyes: Lime Tree, Four Winds
    Paolo Nutini: Candy, Better Man
    Delta Spirit: California
    CSNY: Helplessly Hoping
    Linus Young: City of Sin
Beachwood Sparks: By Your Side, Canyon Ride
    Elton John: Rocket Man

Bonus Points if you can play any Brazilian stuff (Tabua de Esmeralda album by Jorge Ben), Girl from Ipanema, Seu Jorge, Os Mutantes.

Anyway, I think that gives a flavour of what we are looking for. Pm if interested.

    Thanks,

    Brian

    Howdy,

I would honestly say your really not going to get a wedding band that would have that list of songs available nor would allow a groom to dictate that much into their set. I would be concerned if any band just took a gig and said yes we will do them all. Certainly there are a few bands out there that would be capable of doing a good chunk of them, but the wedding is rather close so they'd be booked out by now.

I would suggest trying to look up alternative wedding band websites or maybe even some really talented one/two piece bands that could work. Failing that split the difference up with the DJ covering certain aspects of what you want.

When you say you play yourself, do you intend on getting up and performing a song or two or more, I was cheeky and did the full 2hrs.....

Thanks for the response. Yeah, I could do a few songs but tbh I want to relax and enjoy the day. Have a few people in the pipeline so I'll see what happens.
