Insurance for tractors is generally only 100 quid per year and is then open to all drivers with tractor licence.
Your drink driving is the problem obviously however if you sell the tractor to family and they take out a tractor policy, I believe anyone would then be covered to drive it.

Lab man were you in America at the time? How did insurance companies in Ireland find out about it?

One of the questions they ask is did you ever lose your license!

Remember listening to mat cooper one evening and there was a discussion on insurance. There was a broker on and he said for anyone with "issues" getting insurance should try lots of brokers as some specialise in cover for the untouchables.
I'd say try lots of brokers and see how it goes.

Just on this subject of physically losing your license. It happened me lately, I couldn't find it anywhere and when it turned up it was some months out of date. So I renewed it. Anyway, the chap renewing it told me you can renew a licence anytime within 10 years of it being out of date without any retest etc. €55 for ten years.

Sorry for goin slightly off topic!
