    Hi Guys,

Im wondering if anyone could help out or have any advice, Ive emailed Garda Immigration and am going to Citizens Advice tomorrow,

I have been with my fiance 1 year and 9 months now, shes on her 2nd Student Visa here and shes originally from Mexico.

After finding out that she is pregnant in May we have applied to the Louth Civil Registrar in June for permission to Marry, all the documents have been handed over and we were expecting to be married in roughly September or October, I have been unofficially told by the people in the registrars office that they dont expect the go ahead for the wedding until after Christmas, but my fiances visa expires in November. We are very worried, shes going through maternity care in the Coombe Hospital and by the time her visa expires she will be 7 months pregnant with my child, is there anything we can do here? Can we get an extension on her visa until the marriage? Obviously I dont want her away from me and Id be devastated if she had to leave the country and I would miss the birth of our child

Any advice would be sincerely appreciated, thanks

Mod Note: I feel this may be a better place for your query, kenningtonh. The weddings forum doesn't deal with things like visas.

She might qualify for a stamp 3 visa, which would allow her to stay for up to one year, provided she is not working, and will not be a burden on the state e.g. has private health insurance - this might be enough to bridge the gap between the end of her student visa and getting married if she qualifies. If you go to the INIS web site you might find more information that will help you figure out if this could work
I hope you get it sorted, best of luck
