P&D Advice - missed a few weeks' training

Doing P&D-55 for DCM and I missed four weeks of training due to injury. I completed a 32km Long Run yesterday with no issues.

The focus of the four weeks I missed was increasing my Lactate Threshold. The focus of the next four weeks is 'Race Preparation' with one VO2 Max session per week.

Would it be best for me to spend the next four weeks focusing on Lactate Threshold rather than the VO2 Max sessions? At least it makes sense to me since LT is more important for marathoning than VO2 max!

Another possibility, since you are returning from injury and do appear to have the endurance, is to switch to an in-between marathon training plan.

It probably would be better at easing you in training than jumping straight to hard running such as LT.

Chapter 7 covers what you should do in this scenario.

    Thanks for the advice.

I'll have a look at the in-between marathon plans. Time isn't a big issue for me, I reckon if all goes to plan I can still get a second-best PB.

If it was me I would defo focus on the LT sessions rather than the Vo2 Max ones.
