Probably will go on the Wednesday providing it's not a washout with the weather. Prefer going on my own as able to go at the pace I want to!!

Will be there for the three days with work. Our position in the site is fairly crap so doubt I'll get to see much else of the site.

How long will it take you to go to tullamore?
    Takes 2 hours from here.
Not sure if I'm going. I was at tullamore show and I don't know if you can beat that. Might go??

And good 3 hours solid, with a good bit on the motorway. Hoping to have a nice bit seem before 10 and off to the Dept stand to sort out the usual problem with BPS.

3 hrs?? You going by tractor or something??:pac:

When I was up the country... I'd leave the home stead at 5am on the button and would be disappointed if I wasn't thru tullamore by 7am.....!!

Think I'll give ploughing a miss.... Same craic every yr.... So missing nothing....

The tractor would be quicker. We're going in the flying pig, a diesel Galaxy. It might hit 120 just as the the motorway ends.

Not too far up the road so will definitely go for one day, maybe 2 if the weather is not too bad.

He must be coming from west Cork, do you lads up the country know your geography at all? Driving from mitchelstown to skibereen takes longer than going from mallow to Dublin.

As my father would say "what did we send you to school for at all " -geography wouldn't be my strong point either

I presume the food tents would be open for a fry up at 8am ?

Well lack of a motorway in Cork doesn't help the situation either, maybe they should get Apple to build one :)

You would have to buy wireless iTires to use it and have to put on normal ones again to leave the motorway:p

All you need to do now is get a lift from a neighbour. Sure what am l saying you could nearly cycle. Leave the cheque book at home and you've a free day out.

It take me the same time to get from near skibbereen to Mitchelstown as it takes to get from mitchlestown to Newry. West Cork roads are busy and slow.

Grounds conditions are going to be soft if the rain dosent let up in the week before hand. Heading up regardless to look at a few bits I've interest in!

What is the ground like for the site? The tullamore show was on kind of drumlin ground - banks of gravel.
What is this site like? Is it a bog?

it's gravel too, only about a mile from tullamore showground nearer to tullamore. Owner used to sell gravel from the ''drumlins''

The worst weather I saw at the ploughing was in castletownroche back in 1999. Non stop rain every day. I was parked in the field the first day and there were a few apes of young fellas on tractors cutting up the headlands with constant driving so that they could charge a fiver to pull drivers out after  There were cars and jeeps getting bogged down on the way out, I had the car a galant diesel and eased my way out with low revs and no stopping past the lot and the young fellas had to sh1t for their fiver off me :)

Maybe this is not the done thing but anyone can look up google earth anyway and zoom in closer. So i'll chance it. Mods remove if you want.

Is this the site where the tillage fields are?

Yeah all the tillage fields in the right before the red for are the grounds

Oh they do but I find it very difficult to park. It's an 06 and still more van than car. Apparently newer models are much better. My poor focus does a lot of the handy trips because she is easier to park and much more comfortable.

We might win one at the ploughing and drive it home instead:pac:

As if your driving from right to left. On your right side before the red dot

The red dot marked screggan. Ah I have it now. thanks. Yea it is that whole block of tillage ground.

Edit: they'll probably use the south side of the main road for parking.
