Can there be two Folio numbers listed with the Land Registry that are two entirely unrelated properties with the numbers as follows 1234 and 12344F
I understand the F means Freehold

I'm assuming no, but would appreciate verification of this

If a piece of land was subdivided, are two new folio numbers assigned?

What happens to the old folio number? Is that cancelled and deleted never to be used again?

Yes as far as I know there can be two folio numbers as you describe, both are freehold. Any folio number without an F or an L is freehold, and folio number with an F are also freehold. If a folio is subdivided, usually a new folio number is opened for one piece and the exisitng folio number remains for the other piece. In some cases a folio number can be cancelled and not used again.

Thank you Busylady. Do you know what N stands for after the number

Also if the land was partitioned and one part sold on that the new folio created will also pass on to the new owner?
