JA and part-time work stress

Just wondering if anyone could help me out..

I am currently on JA, but got a part-time job about a week ago. I went into the social welfare office on monday and got the x's and o's forms, so I filled it out and then gave it to my employer on wednesday. It wasn't filled out by my employer until today, so I picked it up a few hours ago and then went to the social welfare office to drop it back. When there, I asked how long I had before the form had to be returned each week, and I was told that because the social welfare's week ends on tuesday (x's and o's form is wednesday to tuesday), that I had until thursday to drop it back, as payments were issued on friday.
This is really worrying me, as it seems that friday is the earliest I can collect it. It wasn't my manager or overall boss who filled it out, it was someone I had never met who also deals with payroll, which gets done on a thursday - I think that's why friday is when it'll be ready. The woman in the s.w office also told me that my payment wouldn't be in the post office anymore, but by bank transfer or cheque - something that I surely should have been told on monday. Now this could delay my payments even further, as I've to supply them with my bank details ASAP.

This has me extremely stressed, I'm worried I will be getting my payments a week later than I should be because of it. I don't know what to do, social welfare don't make the whole process too easy and I'd rather not have a part-time job if it means having to be stressed over something that should be straight forward. I've also tax to deal with, which I have no idea what to do as this is my first official job. Does anyone have any ideas, or had a similar experience? Thanks!
