Considering a switch to sky fibre

    Hi Guys.
Quick question. I've been with vodafone for years and find them grand. The fibre cabinet it basically next door to my house, so I get really good speeds. However, sky have an offer at the moment for 35 euro a month which is pretty good. I recall considering joining them when they first launched their broadband offering, but people on here were having terrible problems with the service. Is it safe to assume that has improved, and I can expect similar standard of service as I currently get with vodafone?
    Thanks!

I am with Sky for broadband and find them no different than eircom or Vodafone whom I have had before. I would always choose the cheapest as its the same phone lines they use.

You'll be fine, you have it installed and working fine. The risk with Sky is on new installs or upgrades because of the stupid way they insist on using Sierra for the home install and KN do the upgrade without ever testing the line.

Just switched myself from Vodafone to Sky and all went smoothly. Speeds are very similar but actually getting less drops so far with Sky.

Been with Sky for a few years ... good service, especially their customer service!

Fibre is now available to me so leaving Sky due to:
    1. 2 step install as another poster has mentioned .. would rather it done by same techs
    2. New 12 month offer (€35 a month) not available to existing Sky broadband customers (bad form)

    Off to Vodafone I go

Have a feeling Broadband will become like the electricity providers, where you are changing at the end of each contract
