As suggested by Knex, here is a prediction pool for the forum! Knex has kindly offered a €20 donation to charity for the winner.

    http://www.superbru.com/nfl/pool.php?p=11622609

    Pool name: Boards.ie American Football
    Pool code: woesbulk

You can join at the above link and then you just need to pick winners and the margin for each week. If you ever forget your picks, you will have 15 'default picks' during the season which will automatically be made based on the most likely winner.

For those of you who find Fantasy Football too much work, this might be an alternative!

I can't sign up for whatever reason, keeps telling me my first name and last name are empty, which of course they are not :)

Don't we have one already with cbs sports that was set up a few years ago ? I've selected week one picks on that already. Is this a new one to that ?

I’ve also entered picks for week 1 on the CBS one…

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,477 ✭✭✭✭Knex*

Never heard of the CBS one, to be honest.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,286 ✭✭✭OAOB

Yeah I've signed up to the CBS one previously but i don't mind guessing twice. Fair play for the charity bets lads

9 signed up, keep them coming.

I think I'll just be sticking to the CBS one since I can't sign up.

Joined just now, Week 1 is a total lottery in some ways of course, but I think I've just picked the correct lottery numbers.

I joined just now. I will also pony up €20 also for a charity of the winner's choice. I will make that 40 if the Vikings make the play-offs.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,002 ✭✭✭✭Realt Dearg Sec

I'll also match the twenty to charity

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,433 ✭✭✭✭thomond2006

    I'll match the €20 too.

There's now 19 in the league folks.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,477 ✭✭✭✭Knex*

    Fair play lads :)

    Joined now.

Thanks for setting this up and fair play on the charity donations lads.

The site looks cool. I see there's cash prizes on offer for correct margins on picks too on behalf of the site which is an added bonus. :)

Seems I have the dubious honour of the wooden spoon after week 1 :pac:

Yes....... I've a feeling I'm going to miss a week though... takes a while to do it.

I am top so far, so I am going to bask in the glory (until tonight at least).

Is that prize open to all leagues? Anyone here close to winning it week1? I only got 2 :(

Remember this? With one game to go, redfacedbear and Adrian522 are practically neck and neck, with thomond2006 having an outside chance of the title. I'm quite content with my 7th place, even if a good few dropped out.

I missed a week and let it slide after that unfortunately, happens me every year really.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,477 ✭✭✭✭Knex*

Still happy to put forth the donation to the winner's charity anyway. Just let me know what it is!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,433 ✭✭✭✭thomond2006

    Congrats redfacedbear!

Let us know your charity and I'll fire over the 20.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,644 ✭✭✭D9Male

Yeah, me too. I missed a week and lost interest, but happy to pony up the moolah to whatever charity.

    Well done redfacedbear.

I tried to do it each week but things got a little bit crazy!

Delighted to donate to the winners charity of choice, do let us know! :)

Sent a PM to redfacedbear there to get a charity name. If no response, might move onto 2nd place, which was adrian522. Will give it a few days anyway.

Ha! Sorry to keep you all waiting. I knew I was in the running, but assumed I'd fnucked it by going for the Falcons in the final and never checked the final outturn :o

Not sure what it says about all your prediction skills (or indeed the state of game) that I managed to pull that one off with limited knowledge and a very conservative pick strategy (pick who I thought ought to win, but divisional match-ups will generally be closer than ya think) -but I'll take it!

I'm delighted you're all still so keen to do the donation thing - I'll of course throw in €20 too.

Wexford Marine Watch would be my first choice - a voluntary organisation that patrols the waterfront here in Wexford looking for people in distress and intervening before anything bad happens. There have been no suicides in the harbour area since they started their work.

Their online donation seems to be via Paypal - so if that doesn't suit the lifeboats would be fine too.

    Cheers.

Cheers, RDB. Nice to see a lesser known charity brought to light as well.

    Donation made.

Done. Being from Wexford I know the massive amount of work/time these volunteers put into the job. Its great seeing them get some recognition

My wife, guess I should call her D9Female, is a Wexford lady. So three cheers for Wexford Marine Watch.

    I paid that just now.

Same here. Not necessary for them to do that all, so its a nice touch.

Hi folks, I completely forgot to organise this for the new season.

How about I re-launch after Week 1 so we can start from Week 2?

Yes I'm happy to pledge €20 like last year.
I'll start a thread on Tuesday and send around invites to last year's players.

Ah great stuff. I'll happily donate again. Cheers lads!
