    Hi
We are a semi retired couple who intend to live ~6 months in Ireland and ~6 months in Australia. I am Irish with family in Ireland and my wife's an Aussie so will chase the sun and spend summer months in the respective countries.
We have decided to live in the sunny south-east in either Co Wexford, Co Wicklow or Co Waterford. Yes "sunny" is a relative term and we do know Irish summers! Just spent 6 weeks there!
Anyway, we are looking for your recommendations of places to live in Co Wexford. It will be a three bed apartment/duplex or a low maintenance house.
Location wise we would like a city/large town based apartment or a small town based house.

    Any info is good info.

    Thanks
    Mick

That should say county Waterford. Have put this question on Wexford and Wicklow forums too!

Tramore might be a good bet. Decent size town of c.10-11k and only 12km fron city centre (regular bus). Great beach and nightlife. There have been duplex appartments for sale from time to time in Appollonian Suites (have a look on daft.ie). I lived there for a winter about 14/15 years ago and the views are lovely. The problem in Tramore with housing is a lack of supply.

I'd go Dungravan all the way!

Go for an area that doesn't pretend to be a major holiday resort.

I know someone who does just what the OP is on about except they spend the winter in California and the summer in Waterford.

Don't forget to look in South Kilkenny too - Glenmore between New Ross and Waterford, Inistioge, Thomastown - all good possibilities, and very close to Waterford especially with motorway

If you don't mind being an hour from Waterford but still near a decent sized supermarket with ATM then I'd look around Cappoquinn/Lismore. In the summer it really is a hidden gem of rivers, lanes and lush woodland. One of my favourite places back when I was on the roads a lot.

Still only half an hour from Dungarvan or Youghal and Tesco, Aldi, Lidl, Dunnes and Supervalu.

I moved to Dungarvan 8 years ago and I love it.

Bigish enough town, nice marina. Close to a number of beaches, woods near by, Comeraghs short drive away.

Lismore a 20 min drive, same with Youghal, Ardmore even closer. Waterford 35 mins, Cork an hour.

Town has been bike friendly for a few years and now we have the Greenway which is superb.

But leave it another 6 months before visiting and they might have the square finished.
