    Hi,

Starting a new job but haven't worked for 10 years, new employer needs p45 but old employer says they don't keep records that old. I can't find the one they would have sent me at the time. How should I proceed with this?

    Thanks

P45 is only required if you worked in current tax year. Call tax office with company reg no. And ask them to send a certificate of tax credits to new employet

Thanks for the reply. Just after finding the old p45 so should I just ignore it and call tax office still or is there anything useful there for the company. Thanks again.

the only thing tha'ts of any use of it is proof of your PPS number. just ring revenue with your PPS number and the new company's registered number and ask that your credits/allowances be assigned to new company. fastest and easiest way all round
