Recommendations for exterior paint on sash windows

Hi, we recently bought and moved into an old farmhouse, circa 180 years old. All sash windows are original and although some are in pretty bad shape most are still functional and the frames are sound.

However all need a bit of attention paint wise and some need reglazing (I'll do a separate thread for that). So focusing on the paint to use can anyone firstly recommend a good diy/paint store that stocks a decent range of wood paints?

Choices in specialist protective wood paints seem very sparse to non existent in the usual suspects (woodies, homebase, builder providers), most of the outdoor stuff is masonry so recommendations for somewhere in the Dublin/Meath area that carries a good range of wood paints would be really appreciated.

Failing that could always buy online so any recommendations for suitable primers and last coat paints? Read a few threads on forums, Dulux used to get good reviews but lot of negative comments post 2010 with Johnstone getting more favourable reviews.

    Cheers
