Catalytic converter light

    Hi all

    the catalytic converter light has came on in my car its a 2010 vw golf - its says in manual that "fault in catalytic converter - decrease speed and go to garage to get checked" it is driving fine and the light has been on a few days - do I need to get this checked? will I do damage to car If I keep driving?

    The problem is unlikely to be with the actual converter it's probably emissions related e.g a sensor before or after the cat and is a symptom of a problem occurring elsewhere.

    Where are you based ?
