I bought a 132 ecoboost 100bhp fiesta with 37k miles on it for 9900 euro from a dealership up north a few weeks ago, this included the vrt, very happy with the purchase. Think I saved 1-2k grand. Keep an eye on the exchange rate, 1.19 will get you 1 pound at the moment, it was 1.14 a few weeks ago, that would of be very very good for buyers.

Would you recommend a dealership up north please

Good luck with your new purchase.

I mentioned the Focus ecoboost here recently and some posters said it can be a bit on the thirsty side. How do you find the Fiesta on fuel consumption ? I presume we are talking petrol here ?

OP, good luck with your search. There is one excellent thread here that will help you with the process of importing a car - http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2057627507.
Personally if I were you I would google Ford dealers in the North and start from there for guide prices.

Cheers, using the fill to the brim an resetting the odometer method I've so far got 48.13 and 49.94 mpg on my first 2 tanks, hoping to break the 50 mpg on my current tank (12 cent per mile at the moment), should know tomorrow when I fill up. I Don't drive the ****e out of it or granny it either but am very economically minded, otherwise I'd be getting mid to early forties I think.
Honestly I was hoping it would do better, a ten year old Yaris would do the same but the feel good factor is what bought it for me. It's nippy, not bad looking and a very affordable car to run overall.

    Yes it's a 1 litre petrol.

Anybody have any experience with buying from auction sites either up north or across the pond?
There must be 1000's of great value ex fleet cars to be had if you know where to find them.

Have a look at autotrader. My experience is there is a large saving up north but it is almost double if you go to the uk mainland.

VRT is the same either way
