Thanks daragh. Are they on Sunday's

The first of our St. Tiernan's CC Intro Spins kicks off on Sunday the 9th of October. The meeting point is the entrance to the Parkvale Estate at 9:30.

    https://www.google.ie/maps/place/124+R117,+Balally,+Dublin/@53.2810422,-6.2330832,19.01z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x486709721df08fe5:0xd84d36f280a6780d!8m2!3d53.2810429!4d-6.2325316

The distance will be around 50-60k with a controlled pace, an enforced coffee stop (the most important bit!) and nobody gets left behind. The focus on the first few spins is getting everyone used to Group Riding. This is a very doable distance for a beginner.

Helmets and Road Bikes (Drop Handlebars) are compulsory. So no Hybrids, Mountain bikes etc. Please do keep an eye on the weather and dress accordingly. Mudguards are also a very good idea and are required throughout the winter.

We ask ALL prospective members (regardless of fitness levels) to attend these spins before moving on to the faster groups on Saturdays.

You don’t need to be a member of the Club or Cycling Ireland to do the first few spins. After that we ask that you take out an appropriate Licence and membership.

If you fancy coming along PM me so we have an idea of numbers.

CI used to run by the calendar year, which started in September I think, but IIRC its moved to a 12 month thing. So if you get your membership in August it runs until next August, rather than just the end of the membership year.

Nope pretty sure membership is renewed in Jan no matter when you buy it.
