    Hi All,

I'm currently being considered for a job with the Local Authority in Kildare. Does anyone know how long the Garda Vetting takes as I filled out the form for the council over four weeks ago (it was the last bit of paperwork required). Has anyone done this recently with the council/Guards.

I've heard that the new systems takes about three weeks. Googling it just gives you anywhere between 2 weeks and 4months.

    cheers.

Just went through it recently. From the email from the Garda saying my future employer had applied to being complete was less than 2 weeks.
Once the Garda receive the application it's very quick

Mine took 16 weeks in 2010. I know people going through Garda clearance for CS positions at the moment and it is taking several weeks. If you spent time abroad it might take longer (if you were living somewhere for more than 3/4 months I think).
Hopefully not too much longer :-)

im also pretty sure all the entrants to medical/child/teacher courses have to go through GV, so could just be busy time.
