Employee Gifts/Benefits/Allowances

    Hi,

What benefits/allowances are there available to employees from their employer? I know that the One4all annual gift was increased to €500 in 2015 but asides from that is there anything else available?

I have friends working in multinationals where they get a "wellness allowance" of €150 per month which can be spent on gyms/massages/hair & make up etc. I am assuming that the employer is picking up the full tax bill on their end. i.e. any BIK or other tax is paid by them and not the employee.

I work in a small enough office where the employer is open to suggestions. For instance, I pay €75 p/m for a gym membership, is there any way that this can be paid by work? If so how is it handled through the payroll?

    Many Thanks

    Joe
