My mother has just bought a new bed and want to get rid of the old one. It is in very good condition, so she doesn't want to dump it. Does anyone know of any charities in the Dun Laoghaire area that would collect it and sell it on?

There is a place beyond Shankill on the road to Bray. It is Charity but can't remember its name.

The flyers that Betel dropped in my letterbox up to a couple of years ago said that they would collect and take away old (reasonably good quality) furniture but that aspect of their operation seems to have been discontinued, it was not mentioned on the last few flyers I got from them and neither is it mentioned on their Irish website .....

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul will accept furniture 'in selected stores only'.....

No mention of furniture on the Barnardos website ...

Oxfam Home - pretty sure they collect. You could also try the Age Action shop in Dun Laoghaire.

The Bubble Gum Club (charity) collected furniture, or rather, accepted it, when they were in Dún Laoghaire. Might be an idea to contact them?
