Hardwall or Bonding

I'm renovating an old house where the internal walls are already plastered. My plan is to re-slab and skim all walls when finished.

However, I have a couple of areas where the wall surface is either in poor condition or has large areas missing (chases, blocked up door ways, etc.)

What is the best thing to do to fill these in so that the slabbers have as good a surface as possible to work from?

I presume bonding works fine around socket chases, but what about a large area like a closed doorway?

    Thanks.

Well if it is dab and slab then I wouldn't concern yourself about it as the size of the dabs will take care of such issues.
How it is done is the 9 or so dabs per sheet are put on and the sheet offered up to it, squeezed a bit and checked for plumb and alignment

    Cheers Calahonda52,

OK - I might chat to them about dabbing then instead. I was thinking of just mechanical fixings.
