I imagine this will spark an interest in this little corner of boards, we'll all be down with the "kool kidz" soon.

Feck, I like watches and drink Indian pale ale. What have I become?

Yeah......naah. just a quick shave just to be sure like.

Look we tell them about watches, and they can tell us about good ales. I actually really don't see a down side here.

You always struck me as more of an emo than a hipster ;)

Yeah, people picture a moody teenage girl. But I'm not. Remember reading on boards many moons ago that Conor had a boards account, given time he would have ended up in here with us I guess. Could you imagine "lads I boxed the head off some Mexican, now which hublot should I buy to celebrate?".

They're my toys:D Mostly dress watches from the 80's and 90's. Something like this...

I was also just going to ask – what colours etc do you have, anything modded?

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 12,754 Mod ✭✭✭✭blue5000

Modded by me = parts from half a dozen non-runners swapped around etc. to get a few running again. Funny enough a couple of them had hands sticking, which suggests some Indian watchmaker (no offence) may have modded some of them before me.

    Not exactly yobokies standard.

So I was in supermacs eating a chicken breast meal and there was a Sun left on the table that the last 50 people had read.

Terrible terrible paper but I did get one laugh......some seizure of money, guns, drugs and proceeds of crime.

    image.jpg
Yes a hublot is a 15k Rolex according to their research!

To your low of brow and small of brain rolexwatch could almost be one word denoting luxury watch. TAG Whooer would follow closely behind.

In most brand's lineups I can find at least one and usually more watch models I like, but I have to say try as I might I have yet to like a single Hublot model. Ever. For me they're the wristwatch equivalent of the minor Russian oligarch parading his fake bronzed beer gut in a rhinestone budgie smuggler on a Black Sea beach. Seems to be the look that ex brand head Jean Claude Biver likes and seems to be dragging into TAG since he showed up there.

Only now can you can get your Patek. Although, don’t forget, you never actually own a Patek Philippe, you merely look after it for your douchebag son

You could put McGregor in a time machine and send him back to 1910.. When he steps out nobody would bat an eyelid. He stole all of his ''style'' from Chris Eubank who was dressing up like a Edwardian twat well over a decade ago. All McGregor needs now is a monocle and a pipe.

One of these? Those Ukranians could get very busy converting wristwatches back into pocket watches:(

TBH I'm a litre surprised the fob watch didn't take off with the hipster/young fogey/I'm a lumberjack 19th century gold miner look. Though I suppose as they're in the pocket they don't telegraph style and jewellery like a wristwatch.

Ya but think how big they could get, and how long, thick and heavy (and blingy) the fob chains could be:pac:

This has a longines movement, which is why I'm watching it on ebay, no bids at $59, but needs repairing. What movement is in yours?

Fairly high chance that Hublot on the Sun is a fake too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,818 ✭✭✭Bateman

Saw a replica Hublot there recently and it was fairly decent looking (if it's your thing).
