Justin Edinburgh back at the lane as a manager. You would like to think that should be an easy enough tie.

Definitely a tie to give some of the youngsters a go.

They beat Watford on Tuesday night. So not a foregone conclusion.

I assume we'll have a fairly youthful squad on Wednesday.

    Vorm/Lopez

Trippier - Wimmer (if fit) - Carter Vickers - Davies

    Carroll - Wanyama

    Edwards - Onomah - N'Koudou

    Janssen

I just have a feeling he will leave someone senior, like Wanyama in there.

Not sure if he will risk Janssen, but he might start in order to get a goal and get his confidence up, but won't be on for long with Kane being injured.

    Subs

    Winks
    Walker-Peters
    Vertonghen
    Sissoko
    Harrison

I predict 4-5 goals for Spurs.

I almost hope Wimmer doesn't start, as that would mean he's not injured and just out of favour with Poch (or some other bad reason). He should have played when Verts was moved to LB last week.

A lot of faith in Winks and Carroll in centre mid. Thought there might be a more senior head in there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,927 ✭✭✭Sugarlumps

Haven't seen enough of Winks, hoping he takes his chance. Seen plenty of Carroll, no idea why he's still at the club?

Emmanuel Osadebe will have something to prove.

We played Gillingham once before - in 1982 - coincidentally also in the League Cup.

    Very good start.

No harm to see that keeper going off, looked like he was going to stop everything we threw at him tonight.

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 23,282 Mod ✭✭✭✭Kiith

Ah, Jansen...should have scored that. Wide open.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,284 ✭✭✭DubPerryman

Janssen looks like he's feeling the pressure. Tripper put that one on his head, he just had to hit the target!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,057 ✭✭✭tippspur

    Some goal!! Eriksennnnnn.

Jansen is actually playing really well, just hasn't scored yet. He's bloody strong.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,057 ✭✭✭tippspur

Poor Jansen, will it ever go into the net for him :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,284 ✭✭✭DubPerryman

Yeah he's a tidy player - good touches and holds the ball up well... Even gets in the right places at the right time, just doesn't seem to have the killer touch!

Lovely play by Lamela, nice finish by Erikson. 2 - 0

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,791 ✭✭✭Worztron

Come on! Let's go on now and batter them.

    Janssen scores from the spot!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,057 ✭✭✭tippspur

Vinny on the scoresheet at last.

    Sweet. That worked out well.

But I recall Soldado getting a penalty to open his account and it made little difference

I forgot we had Nkoudou. Will be interesting to see what he's like.

Carroll and Winks have been good in CM. Same with CCV at CB. Great to see so many youngsters playing so well.

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 23,282 Mod ✭✭✭✭Kiith

    4-0, Onomah. Delighted for him.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,951 ✭✭✭SuprSi

    Goal for Lamela :D

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 23,282 Mod ✭✭✭✭Kiith

    It's his debut tonight

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 23,282 Mod ✭✭✭✭Kiith

Pretty much as good as it could have been. Loads of debuts, Jansen on the scoresheet, and no injuries. Job done :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,791 ✭✭✭Worztron

    That'll do nicely. (:

Liverpool away next. I'd give a similar, maybe slightly stronger team than tonight a crack at them.

Good. Let the same team have a crack at them i say. No reason to fear them, and they deserve the shot.
