Long story short we have had to move home to my dad's house to look after him who is not very well. He is undergoing surgery and we are going to help him out until he is back on his feet (4-5 months). The only problem is our two yorkies cannot come with us :( as it will be cramped enough as it is. They are great dogs, so well behaved and just love cuddles. We would pay for all food and any bills that may arise. Really hoping to find someone with a love of dogs like me and home from home environment for them. They are 5 and 6 years old, a boy and a girl, the boy is neutered and the girl isn't as she was so tiny when we got her and only has gone into heat twice in her 5 years. I'm so sad to be doing this as they mean the world to me but dog minders are so expensive and kennels lack the company they really love. We are based in Wicklow so any of the surrounding counties would be a bonus. If anyone thinks they could help me out I would be so grateful, drop me a message and I can send more details. Many thanks

Did you get them as pups? If so, maybe contact the breeder/s who should be happy to help.

Are they some exotic type of giant yorkie - like how much space can a small dog take up?! I'm not trying to be mean but I assumed small dogs took up a tiny amount of space?! I have two retrievers and they take up a couch or lie on the floor/bed/crate - we have a small terraced house with 2 rooms downstairs. Now one in fairness is always in the way :p - the other doesn't like us stepping over/too close to him so would tuck himself away.

A small crate would keep them out of harms way and allow them to stay with you?

I really wish I could, the reality is my dad is not really a dog person and having them in the house would add to the stress and with his condition I'm trying to eliminate that. If I could have them with me I'd have them there in flash.

It doesn't matter if they don't breed anymore, they should still be able to help, breeders are responsible for a dog for the whole of its life. Have you spoken with the rescue?

Try look for boarding kennels near your area. May prove costly but worth it if you plan on keeping these two yorkies.

If you're looking to rehome, there's a Yorkshire terrier rescue Ireland site on Facebook. Might be worth contacting them for help.
