Hey I'm just looking for some advice.I recently received papers from my ex for divorce I signed them maybe stupidly because we have no property or other assets to fight over.I think she thought I was happy with the times I had my son but I'm not 100% so I wanted to sort something out before court but she won't.we both have no solicitors. so what I'm trying to find out is can I sort times in court during the divorce or will he say I have to go to family court when divorce is finished??

Are you legally separated already or did you go straight to divorce? You need to hire a solicitor to get things done, it's the only way. You can represent yourself but it's better if you have a solicitor. I was legally separated this year, heading for divorce next year hopefully.

If you don't have an access order through the courts, then can you agree with your ex to what times you want to see your son?

Everyone's circumstances are different. Sometimes it's better to have it drawn up as part of the separation/divorce, it really depends on how amicable both parents are.

Sorry I haven't been on here in ages busy few weeks.ok basically we have an agreement about times I see my son every 2ND Tue after work for 2.5 hours then 2 Friday's and 1 full wkend a month and she has him one wkend that wkend for her was my idea not sure if that was good or not.I have been trying to get him every Tuesday but maybe il leave it with winter coming sounds silly but I live in wicklow and he lives in Dublin so travel and plus money with not having the best job.yes we are separated.anyway 2 wks ago she said to me she has to scrap what I signed and start the process again because obviously doing it DIY she messed up somewhere. so I have to wait and see what happens next.thanks for advice people
