Hundreds of Travellers bring mayhem to a small German town

Thought this is worth a thread of its own, as I am sure if any other ethnic group carried on like this it would make headlines.

A large group of Travellers brought chaos to a small German town after a pilgrimage to celebrate the Feast of the Assumption.

Shouldn't it be that they are held accountable for their actions and carry on, but something tells me they will be moved on to make a kip out of the next place that will be unfortunate enough to have them.

In a video on evening news site Hessenschau, one young Irish man in a BMW announces to the news camera:

We’re here to have sex with German women and drink a lot of beer.

Give it a rest, listen, we all know of your contempt for Muslims at this stage, but do you really have to divert every topic off course with your vitriol?

The Feast of The Assumption. So celebrating the Feast of Mary being beamed up to heaven means casual sex, ****ting in the bushes, making a nuisance of yourself and upsetting the peaceable burghers of wherever.

The Germans got six thousand euros off those horrors towards the clean up costs.

I doubt if the Irish authorities manage to get a cent off them.

Are they all Irish though, the Reg on the car that is visible isn't an Irish Reg.

I am far from the pc brigade.
I've had dealings with travelers before and I know that they can cause trouble. But a blanket statement wishing they were all killed is disgusting.

I'm on a phone and make quite a few mistakes using it, not least because of the stupid auto complete on it.

    I agree.

You don't have any choice about the family you're born into. Not fair to find people guilty by association.

Yep. However starting a sentence with a conjunctive is an accepted writing style. Leaving out a full stop is just plain wrong. If you are going to dish it out, then soak it up.

God bless the oul dole that funds all of this. Surely there should be some type of travel assistance supplement to help out the ferry costs for them.
Sinn Fein or aaa should be more vocal about the need for such a supplement.
Who knows maybe they are job hunting seeing as 80 odd % can't get a job over here!

    Farking Hell:

    http://hessenschau.de/tv-sendung/video-20082~_story-landfahrer-ginsheim-100.html

Should be arrested and cars and caravans taken off them and sold to pay for the damage. Why do they behave that way? Because they know the nnGardai only care if someone is on fire or dead and will otherwise say "ahbegranterfcuk", as they much rather prefer not to get involved with ruffians and shady people, they will rather arrest retired women who didn't pay their TV license. And as you can say at the beginning of the video the Travellers repsonse is "fcuk off", because they know that works here.
I hope they get their ass kicked over there. General debate about travelers aside, those are scumbags and they deserve a little "time off" until they can see wider society is not their playground, ATM and toilet.

If the taxman arrives at my door he will ask how I paid for things and to prove it

Why does this not happen to these people?

Because you and me don't knife people who question them and then sit in court smirking as conviction number 57 is yet another 2 years suspended.

I deal with these people all the time, very occasionally I'll meet a nice one but on the whole they are willfully ignorant, intimidating bullies who will happily walk all over anyone they feel is weak enough to take it. Its not right to judge anyone on their background, I judge them on my interactions and sadly the stereotypes are in most cases spot on. Perhaps they could make an effort to change but it's just not in their nature, how the live now is too easy.

    Glazers Out!

    But no need for this.

I too interact with them on a very regular basis. There are a few decent folk that I'd happily talk to all day long but the vast majority are nothing more than criminals, bullies and downright nasty.

I personally blame successive governments that pandered to their every complaint. Most state departments also pander to their illogical, fraudulent and constant claims for more as they're afraid of being seen as discriminatory towards their culture and in many cases it's simpler to just give them what they want to get rid of them (until the inevitable next time)

Spot on. I dont have any dealings with them anymore, but even the sound ones would tell stories about screwing people that would put the hair up on your neck, they just dont give a sh1t.
I'd guess that the majority of people who stand up for them have never met one, and definitely have never lived within an asses roar of them.

I don't agree with what was said but what I think is much more concerning than a comment on the internet and the amount it has been thanked... is the deplorable behaviour by the travellers in question in that German town.

Sadly the fact that it happens so often tends to prove the stereotype

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,639 ✭✭✭andekwarhola

Personally, if I possibly could, I'd block any attempt at having travellers live anywhere near me. And I don't consider myself a bigot by any means. The fact remains that travellers are significantly more likely to cause social issues wherever they end up.

That's based on mine, friends and my family's personal experience. My last time being when a housing association bought a house in a settled, private estate I was living in. They housed various 'high-need' social tenants in the house over time with no issues whatsoever. When they housed a family of travellers there, instant mayhem with them terrorising their neighbours and their kids bullying all the other kids on the estate.

When that estate of residents blockaded and prevented a halting site going in, they were unfairly pilloried by the media and middle-class liberals (who have never and never will live in proximity with travellers) as nimbys and bigots.

Fair enough, I'm sure there's decent travellers but why would any person in their right mind willingly take the (much, much higher) risk of having them living beside you especially knowing that any anti-social issues will be handled with kid gloves and countered with accusations of racism?
