Great start for Sagan - up to 8th already!

If his start is anything to go by, he's in with a great chance.

Bad bottleneck on that drop section. Nice course, for a man made one.

BBC commentators really want Sagan to fail.

Some of these guys will question what the fcuk they're doing in the sport if Sagan manages to medal or even win this.

With so little support is Sagan going to have to go back to the team car for his own bidons?

No spare bikes in the pits rather than switching wheels?

And what about a bit of foam and CO2, why are we seeing so many with punctures waiting for the tech zone, why aren't they carrying them?

Some will have CO2, but most think it's quicker to get back to pits.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,561 ✭✭✭Eamonnator

Most will be using tubeless tyres, some including Schurter use tubeless tubulars

I'd expect Schurter to make another attempt to break away soon. Kulhavy seems to be able to stay with him and he beat him in London in similar circumstances.

Sagan's puncture cost him big, he got it early on the lap and had to ride the whole lap with it. He is currently five minutes back.

Schurter is better on the climbs than Kulhavy.

Barring a problem, Schurter looks to have this tied up methinks, looks very comfortable..

    Is it still raining there?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,598 ✭✭✭rizzodun

Don't think so, but there was an awful lot of rain this morning, their average speed is well below the expected in the dry.

I think the final selection has been made

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,598 ✭✭✭rizzodun

Silver could be up for grabs yet...
