    Hi,

I've been trying to get broadband in my house but keep being told the line is not suitable - Why is this?? I'm only a few km from nearest exchange and about 1.5km from nearest active efibre box.

    Hi  andrew_ob,

Thanks for getting in touch, not all lines are suitable to hold the broadband service I'm afraid. :(
This could depend on several factors such as distance from exchange or cabinet. I understand that you are 1.5 Km's from the nearest cabinet however even when a cabinet may seem close it's worth noting that lines are not laid as the crow flies and may take different routes from the cabinet before it reaches your home. You also may not be connected to this cabinet.
Another factor is a carrier line, unfortunately carrier lines utilise a different cable path which can't support broadband and are installed in circumstances where a normal line cannot be.

I would be unable to advise the exact reason without taking a look at your account.
