Favourite Critics/Podcasts?

Hi all.

I'm fairly new here so apologies if this thread already exists or has been done recently.


Who is everyone's favourite critic? Who do you find is the most reliable? Do you follow any decent blogs?

I'm a big Mark Kermode fan. The man is an absolute force of nature when it comes to talking fluently about film. I have learnt that you can't take every bad review of his seriously though. Especially for comedies.

Although MK is my favourite critic, I do find that the Empire podcast is more entertaining podcast. Chris Hewitt is one of the happiest men alive and Helen O'Hara is a very astute reviewer.

filmspotting.net/ - Don't always agree with the guys (would be worried if I did) but it's an enjoyable show.
thenextpictureshow.tumblr.com/ - Ex AVClub/Dissolve crew, all with their own blogs and what not.
illusionpodcast.blogspot.com/ - Can be slightly esoteric at times with the range of films/directors covered but that's what I like about it. The host (Tom I think) can be a tad condescending at times to the other guests but if you can get past that it's worth a listen.

Absolute worst is Devin Faraci. An obnoxious attention seeking pain in the arse.
