Removal of Unwanted furniture - Best way to give it away?

I'm updating a house I live in. I was living/renting it until about 6 months ago but I've saved a bit now and want to freshen it up.
I've some pretty good quality and solid furniture that I'm looking to remove. I'm going for a room 'style' and unfortunately it's just old or not suitable even though it kills me as it's still good and usable.
It's not worth much so I don't want to spend 1/2 a week answering my phone and haggling and entertaining visitors so I'd be happy to give it away. Can anyone suggest a good website/charity to do this? I wouldn't mind paying a bit but think it could definitely be used again (Sofa +1, Gas Fireplace, TV stand, single bed etc.)

SVP, i had the same last summer when my parents downsized, they came and took all the stuff away.

they wither sell it or give it to people who need it.

dunno where your based but in Cork Penny Dinners are good, SVP or any other charity really.

Oxfam Home. Think they'll collect as well.

Or freecycle (if it's still on the go!) - I got rid of tons of stuff over the years with that, although it's probably more hassle than you want.

I find the free section of Adverts really handy for this.

    Profit:
    https://auctionxchange.ie/
    http://www.hermanwilkinson.ie/

    Break even:

Jumbletown.ie or freetradeireland.ie for websites where users will come and collect.

Betel in Shankil will collect as far as I know: http://www.tuugo.info/Companies/betel-charity/0340002566104#!

    as will castaways: http://castawaysbray.com/

    Loss:
There's 2 charity shops in Dun Laoghaire that I know take furniture, making it matter and the one with the arrow pointing to it here: https://goo.gl/maps/yuzsgE3PfJo

I don't think they collect though (hence you would have to pay to get them brought here unless you have a means to do so yourself).

    Loss +environmental loss:
If using a man with a van type set up, be very careful if they are saying they will dispose of them. 99% of man with a van set ups don't have a valid waste permit so legally can't charge for disposal of items and you don't want them ending up dumped in some field.

Furthermore, if it's traced back to you (letter in a drawer, etc), you'll be the one getting the fine for illegal dumping.

I find adverts great for this. Have given away arm chairs, tables etc before

If you're in Dublin then Cheeverstown takes donations of old furniture and sells it in their charity shop. The shop where we bought our new sofa put us on to them, and they sometimes collect.

    +1

I've given away 100+ items on adverts.ie and most has been collected after a day or 2. This is in the Dublin area though, would most likely be a different story if you live in the back end of nowhere.
