Lenovo N22 11.6-Inch HD Chromebook Laptop is back on Amazon at GBP 99.99 without Prime membership.

Bought one last month on Prime Day and it's nice piece of kit for the money if a chromebook fits the bill.

It says up to 14 hours battery life, what are you getting in the real world?
Is the screen good picture, says it's HD?

Some of the absolute stupidest questions I've ever seen are asked the 'ask a question' Amazon page. Bunch of absolute morons, I suspect some are trolling. Or at least I hope they are.

Thanks OP. Have been debating a chromebook. At that price debate is over ;)

Bought one last month at this price, fantastic little device for the kids at that price. 14 hours sounds about right battery wise, and only takes an hour to charge.

I bit the bullet after having wanted a Chromebook for quite some time - price was too good to resist!

From reading reviews, general consensus was a good basic Chromebook for browsing etc. Okay processor and 2gb RAM probably mean it's not at the races for anything else.

Of note, it will soon have support for Android Apps from the Play store which could really open the Chromebook as a device - offline Office, etc.

Can it play Bf4 at low settings?

also, can it turn water into wine?

Don't know if it could turn water into wine but I'd say it could run Wine If you install Ubuntu first - some posters on HUKD have got Ubuntu running with Crouton ;-)
    Hope that helps!

Sorry if I didn't express myself well re specs - just wanted to highlight as it may limit what apps people could use when play store comes around

I think the problem is that some people are so stupid they think they are being asked the question directly and don't realise it is sent to every person who bought the device.

    Never underestimate stupidity.

The handle is handy alright, and they are splash proof and somewhat drop proof afaik (wouldn't test it on purpose, but handy feature just in case)

Honest question, is there a reason to get this delivered to Parcel Motel when the delivery was free to Ireland?

If you don't know if you'll be home when it arrives...or don't want to have to be?

Also the extra vat you'll pay. Probably works out fairly close though.

Which Vat? You pay vat at point of purchase with Amazon?

Ya maybe, I just get my stuff delivered to work. What happens if the item is faulty? How does return shipping work if you use Parcel Motel?

UK VAT if getting parcel motel Belfast delivery. i.e. less than Irish VAT so small saving.

New job, can't get deliveries there.

OP thanks so much, I love my new toy! One question though, fully charged it says 8 hours 12 minutes of battery left. What happened the 14 hours?

How are these in use for web browsing, have a hp stream and its very slow, thinking of replacing with this as a holiday/college laptop

Has the stream always been slow? I would look into ways of speeding that up ober buying this. I wouldn't think there's much of a spec difference, although the difference in OS could be the biggest factor in performance here.

But Irish Revenue is getting shafted on that £20 in VAT. You cant expect decent services, if there is no money for them

Do an OS reinstall, leave out all the crapware, choose a light antivirus (e.g. Panda AV) rather than Norton or McAfee suites.

I'm using a Stream 11 day-to-day and it's plenty fast. It goes a bit slow after a while if you're not using ccleaner and watching your disk usage - with W10, Office and a couple of files your disk will be nearly full in no time.

Alternately throw Ubuntu Mate or similar on it, that's what I'm using at the mo and it suits it perfectly.

Not providing any opinion on the matter. Simply answering a question asked.

Its basically a stream with chrome os, similar hardware specs afaik. I was going to say you could install chromium os, but apparently its not very straight forward. The Stream should be passible for browsing the web and videos if its not I would try upgrading to win 10 and refreshing the PC, both fairly easy to do. At the end of the day its the 100-200 euro section of the market, your not going to get amazing performance.

I'm running Ubuntu Mate on the Stream as the windows 10 performance was pretty slow, the worst aspect the the inbuilt wireless which doesn't work in many parts of my house, including the one i'm typing this from, which my main laptop currently has 5 bars signal on.
Sorry for dragging this thread off topic, one of the strengths of Lenovo discussed here seems to be the decent wireless.

The Lenovo N22 is now showing that it can't be delivered to Ireland, this is the one sold directly from Amazon. Doesn't make much sense seeing that you can still order other makes and models of chromebook?

I got it last week and had to deliver via parcel motel as postage to Ireland was adding an extra €25 to the total!

I got it for 3.50 with AddressPal. Was in my local PO in about a week. With free Amazon shipping.

Am I right that this looks to be an upgrade on my slightly aging Acer C720? Looks to have better battery life, more HD space and a much better processor.

Yes but the only time frame Google have given is late 2016 / 2017 so I wouldn't hold my breath.

Price is back down to £99 again, but can't be shipped to Ireland for some reason... So Parcel motel etc. required.
