Citroën c4 grand Picasso - flat battery, anti pollution faulty and cutting out

So....started last Thursday car was flat battery. Responded normally to a jump start and was fine for the day. Fri was flat again twice. We found a light in the boot that seemed to be constantly on so my husband repaired this and we replaced the battery. Bought battery in Halford, fitted by them.
    All was fine Sunday.
Today was sluggish to start, and within 10 mind driving the engine cut out and an anti pollution faulty message flashed up.
Awaiting tow truck now as car won't start, as if battery is flat.
Just wondering if anyone has any idea what's going on.

    It's a 2009 diesel automatic

    Thanks!

It kinda sounds like the battery is not get charged which would point to the alternator (the thing that charges the battery during driving).

The other issues are probably just cascade error because the battery is low.

Thanks. Mechanic looking at it tomorrow but is suspicious of the particulate filter. Replacement seems really expensive. Other option he said was something about epu? He'll have a closer look tomorrow but can anyone explain the above?

Not a DIY effort, moved away to main forum.

There is a filter in the car call the diesel particulate filter. This can get clogged up.

Maybe he said ECU? This is like a car computer.

Ask him to clarify when you see him tomorrow
