    Hi all,

This have been living in my extension for the past few months. Am I'm being paranoid or is it a false widow?

Asked already on a previous thread, but not answered:

Do any spiders etc. here show on UV light, like the black widow (and scorpions?) in the USA?

But look at it's back, it has same pattern as a false widow?

Even if it is they're no more dangerous than a bee or wasp. Don't believe the fear mongering in the tabloids they've been here for decades without much issue.

Yes I was thinking it's all scare scaremongering created by social media and the likes, why only now is there a big hullabaloo over them...

I've several really big females in my shed and one behind a bookcase in my sitting room. Never had any problems with them. My wife is insisting the bookcase one be evicted but I can't seem to catch her!

Ours is getting bigger by the day, it just chills out in the extension in my house! :D Does be interesting watching it make its web.

Just relocated one that was sitting right smack in the middle of my gable end. Thought it strange as the house is painted a bright colour and it stood out a mile..will birds eat them?
