Always on the look out for a nice pair of shoes for work. Not a massive fan of the current tan style with the design around the toe but this caught my eye as something different but stylish. Expensive enough on sale at €200.

    Thoughts?

They're nice shoes OP, but I agree quite expensive at €200 on sale. What do you think of these? I bought them for my OH recently (he picked them out himself, I gave up on surprises, he's too fussy, lol). He wanted something slightly different too and just liked the twist with the little bit of blue.

    I think they're really nice Sully (I'm a girl) :)

One thing I've been noticing about guys' shoes recently is that some of them have been wearing coloured shoelaces with shoes (brogue style, like your example) that I wouldn't have noticed or commented on before. I think it's cool and works for men of all ages, I've seen guys in their late teens and men in their late 60s rocking it.

Red shoelaces with that shade of tan brown you're interested in works well and it's one of the combinations I've noticed and complimented men on.

Beautiful shoes (I'm also a girl).

I wouldn't be overly concerned with the price. You'll know when you put them on your feet if they're width the money. Good shoes will last years, and they're a fairly timeless style.

There extremely popular (the style - the "holes") and I haven't warmed to them, being honest. Plus I tend not to like going with the "trend" as I feel like I am just copying it especially when you're working with other with a similar style!

Funny you should mention that, I saw a lovely pair that I am slowly warming to. It was a tan coloured shoe but with navy laces. Must see if they are still around and post back a picture.

I find the more expensive the shoe the longer they last in terms of the colour and durability.

    Nope, why?

Good shoes are worth every penny you pay for them. As a woman, I really admire men with good shoes

Loake, Barker, etc are always going to be on the more expensive end of things. But they'll be better made with stitched uppers rather than glued, good leather, and better construction.

Personally I wouldn't wear a shoe with such an affectation, but if you are wearing casually rather than with a suit then go for it. Just make sure you polish them and use shoe trees.

Maybe I got old or something but I don't overly like them. They look well made and everything but I can't warm up to the style.

Also check out meermin (www.meermin.es). Some lovely shoes (Aubergine MTOs at the moment). And one of the best value shoes out there at the moment. The net has a lot of information on the various lasts and size comparisons (as it is a web site order).
