Hi all, just a quick question, thinking off purchasing a second hand 970 as they seem to be going for a decent price at the moment, I have a r9 380 at the moment, would you stick with the 380 or go for some alternative altogether, thanks for the help.

2nd hand GTX970 is a solid upgrade but I wouldn't pay more than 180 for one at this point, to buy new they're about €230+.

The RX470 at €200 or RX480 at around €250 might be better options, similar speed but brand new cards and strong DX12 performance for games going forward.

If you really want a budget upgrade R9 290's sell for €150 or so now 2nd hand, and that's an excellent value for money purchase, not far behind a 970.

Thanks for the reply, that's a couple of nice options there to look into.

If you don't mind a bit of noise you should be able to get a reference (blower) 290 at the lower end of the spectrum (under €150). Be warned though they are bloody loud! If you can hold off you should see the prices settle on the RX470 over the next few weeks.

From €230+p&p, but good GTX 970 are from €250

Overclocked RX 470 is better value, €210-230.
