Can any of ye tell me am I doing something wrong here? For breakfast I have 4 boiled eggs between 4-5am. Throughout the day I have 2 packets of chicken and 2 turkey, they are the packets with 3 rough slices and a few bits. I usually play squash or do some courtwork between 5-6pm and then have whatever the missus cooks afterwards. Am I eating enough?

Forgot to mention that I drive a bin lorry so I'm sitting on my arse all day.

You're not really telling us why you think you're doing anything wrong. Are you getting heavier? Are you getting lighter? Do you feel you're lacking in energy?

What is it that you want to achieve that you're not achieving?

If anything I would say your diet is probably a bit too protein-heavy and you're likely not eating enough, but there's not enough information to say either.

Take stock of everything you eat, including any snacks in the truck, drinks in the truck or before, during and after squash. As well as any beers or whatever you might have in the evening.

Work out what your typical daily calorie intake is first and from there you should be able to work out whether you're eating enough.

What is it you are trying to achieve?
Gain weight? Gain muscle? Stop feeling hungry? Make sure your getting enough vitamins?

    No enough information.

At a cursory glance, with very little information provided..... You are eating protein for breakfast, 4 packets of sliced meat ( on their own???!! Wtf!!!??) followed by some meal I don't know what it contains, I would say your diet is very restrictive with no fruit, veg , fish, carbohydrate fat or dairy.....

Sorry forgot to say I'm trying to lose weight. I've lost about 22kg and I'm down to 101.2kg now. I'm 5'8" so still a lot more to lose. I'm not so concerned about hitting X weight but just want to lose the belly really. Don't drink any beer, all I can drink is vodka really and won't be for the foreseeable future. I have at least 1 or 2 black coffees with a drop of milk with no sugar. Other than that I just drink water.

I go to the squash club 5 or 6 days a week so just want to make sure I'm not hindering my weight loss by not getting enough nutrients. I think lots of protein will ensure anything I do lose is fat and not muscle?

Protein along with resistance training mitigates loss of muscle but eating a boat load of protein on its own won't.

You don't say what the dinner is but a diet of boiled eggs and processed turkey and ham won't be giving you a broad range of micronutrients. That won't hinder weight loss but it's good for overall health that you do.

Thanks I'm clueless about what's good to eat and not really. Is there any simple foods that I could eat? I've no cooking facilities or anything like that in work so it's made the night before at home or else got in a deli.

Can't go wrong with a sandwich for lunch tbh. Two slices of bread, two salads, one meat. Throw a banana in there too.

Not a 12 inch baguette stuffed to the brim with a fried breakfast :)

Try to add some carbs into your breakfast. A bowl of porridge ideally, but if you must, at least have some toast with your four boiled eggs :)

You do need to get a better understanding about nutrition overall though. Have a look at the sticky at the top of the forum: http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055157091

I took part in a local operation transformation group in January and over 8 weeks I lost 2.2 stone. At that time I would have porridge with skimmed milk for breakfast and then for my lunch, which would be at 10-11am, I would have a salad in a deli. Usually a bit of turkey with lettuce, tomato, red onion, boiled egg egg and scallions if they were there. Missus was cooking slimming world meals for dinner and that was pretty much all I eat with a banana or apple or a few cashew nuts thrown in.

I think the biggest contribution to my weight loss was the motivation of been in the group, we got weighed on Tuesday evening and had an hour or more of a walk or jog afterwards and boot camp style training on Saturday mornings.

I'm probably overthinking it and might try that again.
