Anybody recommend somewhere to buy smoked tuna?

I can only find the John West Smoked Tuna slices in Tesco, and they are delicious but ain't cheap

Woodcock Smokery hot smoked tuna is probably as good as you'll get, but if you don't like the price of John West's product you certainly won't like the price of this. Personally, I find it a bit dry. I love tuna in sushi/sashimi/tartare but in my opinion heat has a very bad effect on it.

Then you need to try the Woodcock cold smoked tuna. It is amazing but can be hard to find.

    Interesting.

Tesco selling John West Smoked Tuna in Olive Oil at €2.99 for 120g pack.

Woodcockery hot smoked tuna is €5.80 per 150g; so certainly a bit more expensive.

I'm suprised smoked Tuna is not more available in the supermarkets, it was when I was down under in New Zealand.

Well, I should clarify that is the mail order price, and does not include delivery!

Imagine those who stock it in Ireland add their margin and delivery costs on top.

I eventually got my hands on the cold smoked tuna. It is amazing. One of the nicest things that has ever gone into my mouth.

Contrary to what I posted earlier in the thread, Sally Barnes still has not retired. I ended up buying it directly from her (along with a side of salmon) through an enquiry on the Woodcock Smokery website. I nearly prefer the tuna to the salmon and it is a quarter of the price.

    Told ya!

Just yesterday I spotted small tins of smoked tuna in Lidl. Think it was part of the recent Greek range. Probably not too many left.
