    Hi,
I have a Raised mole on my chest on my left side and have decided to get it removed because it is causing me discomfort and am self conscious of it, I was told there is a chance of getting a Keloid Scar after the 7 stitches if it doesn't heal properly,
I am now debating what to do, any opinions or suggestions/advice appreciated.
Also does a keloid scar hurt effect your life?

A keloid scar is just a raised scar. You could just use pressure bandages or ointments to treat it.
Not sure what the problem is?

You dont get a keloid scar from not healing properly, some people just form keloid scars as part of their physiology. Certain races and ethnic groups are more likely to form them. If other members of your family form them then it may be an indicator that you are likely to.

They are not a big deal generally.

I agree. I have quite a few. Drs would ask me if I had any black origin in my family as I scar badly. Anyway a small one on my chest wouldn't bother me.

Have you other keloid scars? I have one on my back and I hate it, and a few on my belly: when I broke my wrist recently needing k wiring I was worried about keloid scars and they told me if they looked like they were forming they would give me injections into the scar tissue. Might be worth asking about?
