Birds flying in to window

Twice in the last week a bird has flown in to our living room window. This has never happened before (to my knowledge).

The first bird was stunned but flew off after a couple of minutes. The second guy a few minutes ago was lying on his back but quickly expired.

any idea on what I could do to stop this ? The living room has doors to the garden at the opposite end so I was wondering if this is causing confusion.

I have had a few of these incidents into a fairly large side window , it usually happens with young birds , some people use stickers to break up the reflections

, the best thing I found was to stop washing the windows in the summer , and so far this year no strikes , hope this helps .

We have had two fatalities recently. Blackbirds. First in a long time.
And we haven't washed the windows in a while.
