Saorview Reception in Apartment

    Hi Folks.

I live in an apartment in grand canal dock in Dublin. So surrounded by tall buildings... and I'm struggling with Saorview reception - only on some channels though. RTE 2 is the best example of the one I'm struggling with most.

I've tried multiple tv's and boxes and multiple internal aerials. Putting up an external aerial isn't an option. Anything else I should be trying? I have seen some suggestion that part of my problem may be down to interference with my DVB-S2 receiver.

    Ideas much appreciated.

Ask your landlord to provide an aerial feed.

Have you got a balcony? You may not be allowed to mount/fix it externally, but you can't be stopped from placing it outside. It could also be camouflaged.

There's no reason why the DVB-S2 receiver should interfere with DVB-T.

If the indoor aerial was sitting on top of the DVB-S2 receiver, there quite possibly could be interference from it.

If you think it might be causing a problem just plug it out from the mains (not just put in standby) and see if it makes a difference

Have you tried putting your aerial looking out windows, even if windows are on the wrong side of the building (not facing transmitter) as in a built up area like that there would be reflections from other buildings
