Hi all, I bought a car from a VW garage in my local town. They are a very wealthy and well known family about the town. We had bad luck with 2 cars that we bought from done deal over the past year so decided to go with a reparable local garage. To wrap things short, we bought a 08 passat 105 bhp with 3 months warranty, its the max we could afford!!
After a week we had to bring it back as there was a shudder when sitting still and when starting the car it started with a thump. The conclusion from the salesman was the clutch and fly wheel need to be replaced so they replaced it even thought the mechanic said it was fine. With nearly a month gone and the shudder still in the car it wouldn't start one morning. I recorded this on my phone and rang to let them know but couldn't bring the car to them straight away. The same thing happened a couple of times more before we got it into the garage and the conclusion of the salesman was fuel pump and even though the mechanic said there was nothing wrong with it they still replaced it or so we were told.
Now at this stage, 3 months has passed but because it was a recurring problem the garage had it covered.
The car wouldn't start another morning so the garage took it back and has had it for nearly a week now. They have replaced the fly wheel again (just to eliminate all problems so i was told?), engine mounts were done, injectors seals and a bunch of other stuff.
Anyways, I have serious doubt that anything has been done with the car to the extent they say and i suppose even if the work had been done, to me the car seems like a problem or could be a future problem.
Can anyone tell me from a legal point of view if i am entitled to ask for a replacement car or my money back.

If anyone could help us please!!!

sorry to say- probably not. 3 months are up. Hope somebody else can give you better advice but I'd say you are out of luck

Seems like the garage are being pretty reasonable at trying to solve the issue.

If you think they haven't fixed what they say they are fixing can you bring it to an independent mechanic to check if new parts are fixed?
