Wedding power couple

So I have seen these signs pop up in my area recently for a wedding. Usually most wedding directional signs are cute little home made things pointing the way.
I was just wondering would the couple have actually gone to the trouble of paying the AA to get these signs made up because they think that their wedding is such a massive event it needs to be officially traffic managed by the AA ? Or would the AA have approached the couple and said "Here that event needs to be managed"
I'd normally only see these for concert events in Slane or match day traffic in Croke Park.

I take it you weren't invited then?

Maybe one of them works for the AA or has friends who do

Dont know the couple personally. But for the record I'm not a fan of weddings being used as pompous displays of materiality. As a side note I'm not even sure if this is in the right forum.

    They sound like ****.

I say they wouldn't be hard to get printed from a sign maker. They were probably cheaper that those home made looking ones!

I suspect the clue is in the names. AA means more than automobile association.
There's an air of "har de har have we gone viral yet" going on wit Vennessa n Wayne.

They're a gag. They're rip offs of AA signs. More power to then for a sense of humour.

    Twats.

Nobody needs those kinds of directions in this day and age.

A quick description on the invitation, maybe an image of a map if really necessary and the rest Google Maps can look after.

They need to follow it up with a viral hit, you know, for the likes.

That's right, we all know where country churches are and have access to Google maps on our phones. Well, actually no, I don't.

Satnav is good but not great for finding townlands.

They are just two young people getting married.
That's the kind of thing young people do . . when they are young and excited.
Leave them alone. Happy wishes to them both.

They were never needed it's just a show off. But like election posters they'll be up for weeks and leave the cable tie behind.

Not everyone can manage Google maps or GPS.

Actually not a bad idea depending on the venue. Some of these country house hotels are a nightmare to find, even with satnav.
    Best of luck to them.

Yeah I don't normally go to rural places without checking it out first and hoping there'll be good signage.

You'd even ask someone else going to the wedding. Ridiculous whatever way you look it at for Christ sake.

AA Signs packages start at 520 for 10, 840 for 20 or 30 for 999

If you're thinking about other people's signage take a look at your own signage first. If you have no signage of your own, search deep inside you until you feel the light.

Does the AA put them up and remove them after? I suppose if a reputable organisation like AA is responsible then it will be done properly but I'm surprised that signs can just be erected at random without applying for permission. I'm sure they're very useful for certain locations though.

That registry thing is the most grasping and obnoxious thing I've ever seen.

"Come share our happiness and pay for our wedding and honeymoon! - One day spent with mainly strangers, eating mediocre catering and being bored insane by listening to people you hardly know give speeches about people you're starting to despise! All at the low, low, price of new clothes, gas money, overnight accommodation and the chance to pay for a house for someone else!!"

I don't think that registry is likely to be connected to a couple in Ireland anyway - it appears to be American. Though I have seen similar here - never as bridal shower registry though, that's pushing it imo.

I googled them, the wedding was last weekend. Couldn't find a weddinglist so I think it's a completely different couple.

Now to be fair to the couple, they look perfectly normal. There was no huge social media post, just a couple of tasteful photo's of a couple who looked really happy. They don't look like horrible people and the signs, although not funny, might just have been there to let a load of dubs know where they were going when they were down the country.

That sign doesn't have "AA Traffic Management" at the top, which might call the authenticity of the OP's one into question.
