Hi, just wondering if any of you could recommend a nice not very expensive hotel for a one night break away? Maybe a spa would be nice as to have a treatment if we wanted but really just to chill out and get away from everything.

No budget in mind to be honest, obviously would like somewhere good value which doesn't seem to be the way with irish hotels at the min. Prob 150 max for the night

No idea on prices, so these might not be within your budget. And it might be an idea to give an idea where you might be interested in going or how far you want to travel - will it be by car/train/bus....

Anyway - I liked the following (in no particular order):

    1. Seafield - nice food, nice spa - you can walk down to the beach if the weather is nice
    2. Carton House - nice food and spa - does good deals sometimes
    3. Radisson Blu Farnham Estate - I really liked the spa/pool, again I think they do deals from time to time
    4. Dunboyne Castle - a bit weddingy, but a nice hotel
    5. Bellinter House - I've never stayed, but my OH highly recommends it!

+1 for Bellinter House, it's absolutely lovely and great value for e120/night per room. No pool but spa, sauna, and outdoor hot tub.

Edit great value for Ireland, where hotels tend to be quite dear.

Thanks very much, we're in Carlow so we're central enough so don't mind what distance. Will look up those for sure. Thanks
