Do read the bad reviews before purchasing. One disappointed customer said "if this is 'military-grade' God help our armed forces.

Yes, well, I just need it to survive the cat knocking it off my desk, not a direct air strike.

Yeah, it has. Maybe a mod will change the title of the thread?

Does anyone know exactly what military grade actually is?

Just got mine delivered. Product packaging says "meets U.S. military drop-test standards", which probably doesn't mean it explodes when you throw it out of an airplane over Japan.

Oh, here are the specs: "MIL-STD-810G, Method 516.6, Proc. IV". This evidently refers to this handy, layman's-terms (not) explanatory documentation: http://www.atec.army.mil/publications/Mil-Std-810G/Mil-Std-810G.pdf
