Free choice of Router

    Hi,

I'd like to know, if I have a free choice of router I can use, or if I'm stuck with what virgin media is offering me.
I know that it's technical possible and it's a thing now in Germany, that I can use any cable router I want, if it's working in the given specification so my question is, do I have the same choice in Ireland and well?

If this is not the case, is it at least planed?

    Kind regards!

With Virgin you MUST use their modem. No sign of a change there.

It is possible to bridge their home gateway to your own device:
    Directly with a regular connection
By deconsolidating if you're on horizon
