    Hello folks.

I am thinking of purchasing an electronic product from Spain on E-bay, the cost of the item is €230 & €80 shipping. Will I have to pay extra vat etc... even though it is inside the EU ?

    Thanks.

No, unless seller is registered in Ireland for VAT.

The seller is not a store or business, it is just a bloke in spain that is selling it privately. I just don't want to be hit with any extra duty or vat.

You need to be sure of this. Some businesses represent themselves online as "just a bloke". If the goods are shipped from the far east, then you will run into difficulties with Customs and Excise.

I would assume that item is actually in Spain, being specialist and second hand. No customs liabilities.
