Humax HDR loosing channels

Had a quick trawl through some of the archive Humax threads, but nothing like my issue popped up.

This has just happened in the past couple of days. My 'Hummy' has now decided to drop all the Saorview channels each time it goes into standby. I do a manual rescan of E52 & E56 (Clermont Carn), and it appears to load and save the tuned channels in the usual way, and so long as the machine is powered on everything is hunky dory. But If I put it into standby, and come back again, all Saorview channels are gone.

Freeview channels seen to be unaffected. So I tried deleting all settings and manually tune Saorview only. Dropped it into standby again, came back and lo and behold got the message No Channels Available - Press OK to Retune.

Is there something sinister going on like the 'series link' debacle, so that non Saorview approved PVR's wont lock in channels from the Saorview EPG.

All my Saorview channels disappeared as well with PVR in standby overnight and I had to manually tune them in. Also receiving from Clermont Carn. I am using a Sony Freeview HD PVR (2011 model). As with above experience, Freeview channels are unaffected. You may be right re series link debacle. BTW my PVR has Saorview channels all over the place in 800's but I can't unfortunately reorder channels to put them where they should be. Edit: Saorview channels still there having put PVR on standby for an hour. But overnight might be another story. Panasonic Freeview HD PVR has retained channels.

When I get the time I'll run a few tests with a HD Fox (the non pvr version of the Hummy). Wouldn't surprise me if it was Saorview up to something! Could be some attempt to lock things down in anticipation of Saorview Connect rolling out. Separate PVR's for Saorview and Freeview would be a pain in the butt to say the least.

Might be time to get creative and find a way to circumvent all this!!

Update - relieved to see all Saorview channels still there this morning. Must have been a one off glitch.

Put my HDR Fox T2 in and out of standby a couple of times to check this issue. Saorview channels still there thankfully.

Dug out my old HD Fox T2. Rescanned E52 & E56 (hasn't been used since Mux 2 went active). This morning all Saorview channels still there.

Must a be a fault on the HDR. Strange though that it's only the Saorview channels it looses.

Hmn, looks like there's something up! Be interesting to see if anyone else reports similar problems, and see if this issue is anymore widespread. If it's something someone has done inadvertently, and can be fixed well and good. If it's some new 'policy' to encourage uptake of official Saorview approved hardware, then that is a different ball game altogether.

Given that the mainstream manufacturers don't bother with the very small market for for this, and there's only 'budget priced' products available, and thats a very generous description of them, people will feel that they have to look to alternative means of accessing irish content, and by default that may mean unorthodox means, that cannot be mentioned on this forum.

What the powers that be have to realise and come to terms with is, 'the higher they build their walls, the higher we will climb.'

Hmmm, bizarre. I must leave my HDR Fox T2 on standby overnight and check this properly. Because I use it so rarely I normally power it down completely via the on/off switch on the back. I hope this is not a repeat of the disabling series link behaviour stunt that Saorview disgracefully pulled with non approved STBs.
