Thinking of buying from a dealer. Havent seen log look , but only a copy of it. Im.reluctant to buy without seeing the original , signing it and getting a certified copy. Or else we post it off together as a condtion of sale. Ive been done on thisbin the past. Car is taxed for.next few months whi h actually makes me suspicious. Or maybe im just paranoid!

Prob just paranoid, but do ask for the actual book.
It wouldn't be the first time a dealer have mislaid it only to cause grief for the customer down the line.

It's called a VRC now btw.

Is it a reputable dealer ?

Ive come across some dealers changing car ownerships online , hence the reason for a copied version.

But do ask them and see their response

yes but what do i do if he doesnt have the log book?
    (lost )

is filling out the RF 200 form enough? i have only seen a copy by the way
from my research BOTH have to be sent off by the dealer / new owner.
in the past i just filled in the RF 200 without signing the actual log book and it took months to resolve.

Depends, you can choose to just walk away. Or you can demand they replace the VRC themselves.

Don't let a dealer waste your time. Always make sure you see all documents, keys, etc before signing anything
